Most of my working life has been spent with horses.

I was a keen Pony Club member while at school, gaining my PC  ‘B’  Test, before spending a year at Patchetts Green Riding School training for my British Horse Society Assistant Instructor’s certificate  (BHSAI).

I then went on to gain a vast amount of experience working in a variety of yards including eventing yards,  hunting yards,  dressage yards and commercial riding schools.   During this time I also passed my PC ‘H’ Test and  BHS Intermediate Instructor’s certificate.  In 2018 the BHS updated their Coaching Pathway and the ‘BHSII’ became the ‘BHS Senior Coach in Complete Horsemanship’.

After 14 years of working as a groom, I decided to move on and become a Freelance Instructor, teaching people on their own horses.  I love watching and helping developing the partnership between horse and rider.   Whether a happy hacker or competitive rider I will tailor a training programme to suit you.

Whilst working with horses, it was also necessary to drive a huge variety of vehicles.  From old bangers that could barely get above 30 mph to luxury cars,  from tractors to 7.5 tonne horse boxes.  In fact, anything that could be driven on a pre 1997 car driving licence.

Therefore,  when the 2001 outbreak of ‘Foot and Mouth’  curtailed riding,  becoming an Approved Driving Instructor was a natural progression of my coaching career.

I now run the two businesses along side one another.
